The Field Atlas
The GCC outdoors as a curriculum. 58 hikes, 23 dives, 11 fishing spots across UAE, Oman and Saudi. Tiered, with a log attached to every outing.
A working brief for the body's domain, in the same format as the rest of the site. Routes are a curriculum, not a bucket list: each tier is a prerequisite for the next, each outing leaves an artifact, and the order is not optional even though the pace is. Reviewed Sundays; integrated to /life/tasks.
Understand deeply. Build honestly. Ship publicly. Serve usefully. Repeat forever.

Notes: Diving "Oman" includes the 6 Musandam sites + 6 mainland/southern sites. A few locations (Masirah, Bandar Khayran) appear in two categories because they serve both diving and fishing, so unique physical locations are in the high 80s. Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait contribute zero, they are flat and not adventure terrain (confirmed, not an omission).
Access legend: ⚠️4×4 = genuine off-road 4×4 needed · 🧭 = guide or experienced partner required/strongly advised · 🛥️ = boat/liveaboard access only · ❄️ = snow possible · ⛰️ = committing/technical, earn it.
How this domain works
The doing-form is the log. A hike's artifact is a GPS track + a one-paragraph note; a dive's is the logbook entry (PADI builds the artifact rule in); a fishing session's is a catch/conditions log. No log, no claim, the same standard as code and proofs.
The tiers ARE the progression. Within each discipline, entries run from foundation up to a Deep Cuts (DC) tier, the unlisted objectives. You do not skip tiers; committing terrain is earned by banking the boring tier below it. No-artificial-time-pressure with teeth: slow is fine, out-of-order is not.
The calendar balances itself. Cool season (Nov–Mar): mountains + shore fishing. Warm season (Apr–Oct): Oman/Musandam diving peaks (visibility; whale-shark season Sep–Oct). No dead months, when you can't hike, you dive. (Exception: Hallaniyat and Saudi mountains are themselves winter objectives.)
Access reality. Pakistani passport → Oman & Saudi on eVisa (sorted). Car is a JAC JS4, fine for tarmac/graded trailheads; ⚠️4×4 routes need a rental (~AED 250–400/day) or a borrowed truck. Wild camping is free across UAE mountains and Oman.
Bonus dimension. The abandoned Shihuh villages, bait al-qifl houses, falaj systems, Kumzari language and Nabataean façades make several of these field sites for the social-history and Arabic-linguistics threads, not just exercise.

6 · Conclusion
What this is. 92 entries across the GCC: 58 hikes/climbs, 23 dives, 11 fishing spots, ordered into a skill curriculum from marked foundation trails up to unlisted Deep Cuts, with a doing-form (a log) attached to every one, mapped onto your existing review cadence.
The honest shape. Oman carries the weight, it is the GCC's only genuinely world-class adventure country. The UAE is your convenient home base with a real but local scene, not a global name. Saudi is the frontier: real mountains, barely trodden, years out. Bahrain/Qatar/Kuwait are correctly absent.
The mountains and the reefs were here before the work and will outlast it. The point of logging the days is not the count, it is that the body carrying all eight domains is itself temporary, and the boring, ordered, one-tier-at-a-time accumulation is the only honest claim that any of it happened. memento mori.
